Our goal in On-Line tutoring is to approach the effectiveness of in person tutoring. This is done by focusing attention on the table top workspace of both the student and the tutor where each can observe and comment on what the other person is doing or demonstrating.

By using the cameras on current smartphones and tablets, we can position those cameras to focus on the tabletop workspaces for both the student and the tutor.

 

In our most basic tabletop sharing configuration we will use a tablet or phone and ZOOM video conferencing software to get the best audio/video performance. And we'll use the rear facing camera of the mobile devices to view the tabletop in the highest resolution.

 

In addition, if we need to share and view online educational resources we can use laptops (or tablets) with ZOOM video conferencing software to integrate the views of online browsers, electronic documents and the tabletops from the cameras of the mobile devices.
